Right Angle Cross of Eden (36/6)

The Right Angle Cross of Eden is named for Gate 36 and Gate 6. Human Design reads Gate 36, from Hexagram 36, Darkening of the Light, sitting in the Solar Plexus, as emotional crisis, the turbulence a person passes through when an experience is genuinely new to them; and Gate 6, from Hexagram 6, Conflict, sitting in the same centre, as the friction that both guards and opens intimate and sexual contact. It sits in the Right Angle family, the most populous of the three, and Human Design reads that family as steered chiefly by personal choice.

Its design half is Gate 11 and Gate 12. Gate 11 sits in the Ajna and is read as a mind full of ideas and concepts that seek meaning and want to be told; it pairs with Gate 56 in the channel of Curiosity. Gate 12 sits in the Throat and is read as expression that arrives only in the right mood and the right moment; it pairs with Gate 22 in the channel of Openness.

So a chart carrying this cross meets crisis and guards intimacy on a shared emotional surface, while beneath it a fullness of ideas answers to a cautious, mood bound voice. Unlike most of its cohort, this exact four gate combination names no mirror, no family variant and no sibling anywhere among the system's other one hundred and seventy four crosses, a genuine singularity in the set rather than an oversight in the count. A combination the system pairs with nothing else still follows the wheel's ordinary rule: four gates, four different Quarters, none sharing an arc, its singularity a matter of which four hexagrams met rather than of how they are spread across the mandala.
