The Right Angle Cross of Laws is named for Gate 56 and Gate 60, the storyteller's stimulation exposed ahead of accepted limitation. Its first article reads Gate 56 as the one who stimulates others with ideas drawn from experience, and Gate 60 as the acceptance of limitation as the ground real change grows from. What it does not trace is where the four gates sit on the wheel itself, the Human Design mandala's division of its sixty four gates into four Quarters, and by that measure this cross draws one gate from each of the four.
Gate 56, the personality gate, falls in the Quarter of Civilization, purpose fulfilled through form. Gate 60, its personality partner, falls in the Quarter of Mutation, purpose fulfilled through transformation. Behind them, Gate 3 falls in the Quarter of Initiation, purpose fulfilled through mind, and Gate 50 falls in the Quarter of Duality, purpose fulfilled through bonding.
So the storyteller's stimulation and the accepted limitation the first article reads on this cross's surface answer to the arcs of form and transformation, while the pressure to begin and the guarded responsibility beneath them answer to the arcs of mind and bonding, the same four arcs the rest of the Laws family draws on however its two pairs are assigned to personality and design. Gate 60 and the design's Gate 3 remain the two ends of one channel, Mutation, whichever half of the cross carries the Sun.
