Skoll and Hati

In Norse mythology, Skoll and Hati are two wolves, offspring of Fenrir and an unnamed giantess, who pursue the sun and moon across the sky; Fenrir is already recorded in this atlas. According to Snorri Sturluson's Prose Edda, Skoll chases the sun, personified as the goddess Sol as she rides her chariot, while his brother Hati Hrodvitnisson chases Mani, the moon. Norse tradition holds that the two wolves will finally catch and devour the sun and moon at Ragnarok, the end of the world.
