Islamic scholars, jurists and Sufi teachers gathers the compilers of hadith, the jurists and Quran reciters who fixed the tradition's texts, and the Sufi shaykhs and poets whose orders carried Islam's mystical current across Central Asia, Africa and South Asia. A figure belongs here for religious scholarship or teaching within Islam, distinct from the Islamic-world philosophers and scientists who worked in a more strictly rational register and are gathered under Philosophers and Scientists instead.
