A Sanskrit dialogue embedded within the Hindu epic the Mahabharata, in which the warrior Arjuna and the god Krishna, serving as his charioteer, discuss duty, action, devotion and the nature of the self on the eve of battle. It is among the most widely read texts of Hindu philosophy and devotional practice, read both within the wider epic and as a self-standing scripture.
