Texts of disputed or secondary standing, accepted by some communities within a tradition and not by others. Apocrypha is already a plural in English and takes no further s, which is why the heading reads as it does. The word is a judgment passed from inside one canon on the books of another, so the atlas keeps it for works whose standing is genuinely unsettled, and files the settled cases under the names their receiving communities use, in Deuterocanonical Books and in Non-canonical Texts. What remains here is deliberately narrow, and membership is a statement about reception rather than about content or date: a text can be apocryphal in one canon, deuterocanonical in a second and fully canonical in a third.
