Divinity Atlas Entity Records, First Edition

An internal source, not outside scholarship: the first edition's own catalogue of entities, the register this edition drew forward as relational and classificational facts an earlier edition had already established. Its largest single use, by a wide margin, is the is-shadow classification carried forward for goetic, qliphothic and other dark-aspect figures. It also backs containment facts, such as an artifact's custodian and that custodian's country, a work's language of origin, and a hymn or prayer's own performance form, practitioner scope and dedicatee. It says nothing about a tradition's beliefs or practices in its own voice and carries no independent authority beyond what the atlas itself already asserted, and it is cited at the top of the reliability scale because, for a fact of exactly this shape, the earlier edition's own catalogue is the only record there is.

Facts
Assessment
Reliability Tier
1
The first edition's own catalogue of entities, the atlas's own record of what that earlier catalogue itself recorded, the only possible authority for a fact of exactly that shape. Its citations run far past place, language and custody: the largest single use is the is-shadow classification carried forward for goetic, qliphothic and other dark-aspect figures, alongside containment, language-origin, performance-form, practitioner and dedicatee facts.
Notes
The first edition's own catalogue of entities. This source is cited across a wide range of relational and classificational facts carried over into this edition, not only place, language and custody: its largest single use, by a wide margin, is the is-shadow classification recorded for goetic, qliphothic and other dark-aspect figures. It also backs containment facts, such as an artifact's custodian and that custodian's country, a work's language of origin, and a hymn or prayer's own performance form, practitioner scope and dedicatee, wherever the first edition had already recorded the fact.
