Its strength is that Neusner was an unusually prolific and influential translator and scholar of rabbinic literature, and this translation remains widely used specifically because it renders the entire Mishnah in a consistent, systematic English style suited to close academic study. Its limit is that Neusner's own translation choices and organizational commentary reflect his particular scholarly interpretive approach to rabbinic literature, one respected but not universally shared among Talmudists, so a claim resting on a specific fine point of translation may benefit from checking against another standard translation alongside this one.FactsClaims Backed By This Source (171 claims)Comments (0)Reader Challenges (0 open reader challenges)FactsCitationAuthorWell-attestedJacob Neusner, trans.PublisherWell-attestedYale University PressPublication YearWell-attested1988Source TypeWell-attestedacademic monographAssessmentReliability TierWell-attested1Jacob Neusner's scholarly translation of the Mishnah from a university press.NotesWell-attestedJacob Neusner's scholarly translation of the Mishnah.Claims Backed By This Source (171 claims)This source backs 171 claims across the atlas.
