The Fixed Stars and Constellations in Astrology

Vivian Robson's 1923 compilation gathers the traditional fixed-star natures used in astrology today, working from Ptolemy's own ascribed planetary natures for the stars and folding in later Arabic and European additions layered on across centuries of transmission. Its own record states plainly that it stands as the proximate compiler of that inherited material, not as an independent authority confirming where each attribution first arose or whether any single attribution survived transmission accurately. That is a real, checkable limit rather than a reassurance: a claim about a star's traditional nature can be traced back through this book toward Ptolemy, but the many intermediate steps are not individually audited here. Use it as the working reference for a fixed star's conventional astrological nature; a claim about the historical accuracy of any one step in that long transmission needs a dedicated study of the transmission itself.
